Use Everything for God's Glory

A.I. is one of the big buzzwords we constantly hear about. Many of us hear of and have even experienced beneficial uses of it. At the same time, we also hear about some of the negative results of its implementation such as people losing their jobs and harmful environmental impacts. As with seemingly everything humans create, it comes with both good and bad.

There are sects of Christianity that believe we should avoid modern trappings and reject technology. It’s easy to understand why they might feel that way. Much of what the modern world has produced comes with harmful trappings and can pull us away from the righteous path. However, there’s another way to look at it. A.I. and many other human creations are just tools at their core. They aren’t bad or good. It’s how they are used that determines whether they please or grieve God.

Consider something Jesus said:
Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. - John 14:12
That seems like a very odd thing for Jesus to have said. He fed thousands from scraps, calmed storms, and raised the dead. He was God in human form. How could any of us do anything greater than what he accomplished?

Well that’s where modern society comes in. Jesus, as a human, had a limited sphere of influence. He spent most of his life in a relatively small area in the Middle East. He didn’t interact with people in East Asia or the Americas or the southern regions of Africa, but we can. We can connect with and influence people all over the world instantly without even having to leave our homes. We can also make use of our talents in more varied and greater ways than anyone from Jesus’ time could have ever imagined.

For example, God blessed me with being pretty good with words. If I set my mind to it, I can come up with lyrics for a song. Like so:

[Verse 1]

God was always there, even when I was falling
When I bottomed out, he stayed by my side
I covered my ears, even when he was calling
His love never left me, from Him I couldn't hide

[Chorus]

God is enough. He is everything I've longed for.
I've seen many lows; He brought me out of them.
I don't have the world but, I can't ask for anymore.
I'll be content cause my heart is with Him.

[Verse 2]

Why is He so good? Why is He unfailing?
His love will never cease nor his mercy be denied.
He comes to us as three and his Son is salvation.
Now that I believe, I can feel his Spirit inside.

[Chorus]

God is enough. He is everything I've longed for.
I've seen many lows; He brought me out of them.
I don't have the world, but I can't ask for anymore.
I'll be content cause my heart is with Him.

[Verse 3]

What profits a man to have it all but lose his soul?
I'd rather lean on Him because he gives me life.
God is the truth. I accepted that and now I'm whole.
I'm filled up with joy. I gave up my strife.

[Chorus]

God is enough. He is everything I've longed for.
I've seen many lows; He brought me out of them.
I don't have the world, but I can't ask for anymore.
I'll be content cause my heart is with Him.

Unfortunately, I have no musical talent. However, with modern tools like AI, even I can make a song dedicated to the lord.

The world has much to offer, and God’s people have been blessed with many talents. If the world can use mankind’s tools and creations to do evil and wrongdoing, then we believers should do what we can to counteract that and use the same tools and creations to follow God’s will and spread his Gospel. Sometimes it's not how you do something that matters, but why you do it.
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. - 1 Corinthians 10:31
